Zoe & Wash - by kylakae

Happy Anniversary to us...

Five years ago this weekend, my best friend and I became a couple.

So many kinds of anniversaries. Our wedding anniversary will be in October. Anniversary of us moving in together, June.

But five years ago today - that's when we Knew. Not just best friends. True Love. (You think this happens every day?)

Happy anniversary, Adam. :)

For the Gimp Squad

A tip for my friends who have trouble with their hands:

"When chopping fruits or vegetables, use an egg slicer instead of a knife and cutting board. (Be sure it's a steel slicer and not a wire one for harder foods like celery and carrots.) You'll get nice slices to use for your dishes, plus you'll save yourself the hassle of trying to use a knife in a way that might make you hurt. It's faster, too!"

Grabbed from no_pity. :)

We seriously need Gimp Squad t-shirts.

EDIT: At museumfreak's request, I've created gimp_squad. Open not only to the Atlanta-area gimps who created the Squad, but to gimps across the world!

We need an icon.

Little Annoyances

I am not an early adopter. I am stubborn; I cling to the old ways.

Which is why I do not have Welcome to the Jungle on CD.

Or any Skinny Puppy or Dead Kennedys or most anything else from the 20th century. But I'm okay with that at the moment. Right now, though, I need to hear old G'n'R. And I only have it on cassette.

Adam has it. Somewhere. But Adam long-ago got rid of all of his jewelcases and stuck all of his CDs in big carry-cases. And I've looked through two of the three and not found it. And we can't find the third.

See, my CDs are all in alphabetical order in nifty twirly racks. My stuff, I can find. His stuff? Not so much.

And he has WAY too much whiny-chick-with-a-guitar music. Oy.

EDIT: I have the title track now. Need the rest of the album, though. :) Priority for right now is "Mr. Brownstone" (Alanna wants to dance to it), but I want the whole thing. Got that, thanks to voldsom, but still need the rest...

I *heart* you guys.

It's an iTunes day. Have so far ripped Violent Femmes, the Moulin Rouge soundtrack... am now working through the Chili Peppers, Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Yes, I am feeling all sorts of retro.

Short Angry Freuds

Does anyone remember off the top of their heads where the band name "Short Angry Freuds" is from originally? Judd Winick just re-used it in The Life and Tims of Juniper Lee, and I know he's used it before, but can't remember it was in Frumpy the Clown or Barry Ween. I'm leaning toward Frumpy, but don't know for certain, and it's going to nag at me til I know.

Yes, I googled it. And A9ed and Yahooed and Dogpiled. Nowhere.

Comics Project update: We've started weeding! We've pulled enough out of the A-G boxes to fill two longboxes. Some stuff we just don't want or need anymore - but mostly stuff we've duplicated in trade paperback. Our backs and legs were hurting, so that's all for now. *sigh* *Lots* of Astro City, Bone, Box Office Poison, etc...

So. Highly productive day.

A note: I hate fireworks. With a screaming passion. I really, really do. A lot. Which is why I am home tonight. *nod* So now I am going to go watch a DVD or something and try to ignore the flaming death all around me.
