It's called "Books for Soldiers", and it's a website/bulletin board where soldiers can request items for themselves, or fellow soldiers in need of a morale boost. Items requested range from particular books, to DVDs, magazines, snacks, etc. Some posts even ask for items for a whole platoon. Most of them are just happy enough to get a letter or postcard of support.
My thoughts - "I may not agree with our military presence in Iraq right now, but that doesn't change the fact that we have brothers, sisters, neighbors and other fellow Americans overseas. I think this is a wonderful, wonderful idea to let them know we support them. It doesn't take long to go through your bookshelves and get a package ready for a soldier who needs to know we at home care for them! Mail sent to an APO address costs the same as if you were sending it domestically, though if it's a package, you will need to fill out a customs form. It's a great idea, can you help? Spread the word! *steps off soapbox*"
