The writing marathon on Saturday (I talked about this and put pics up, just fyi for those who don't read over the weekend) inspired me to do something I've been idly wanting to do for a while. As I'd said before, satia gave us all blank books with the strict instruction to fill them entirely in one month's time...
So I'm finally doing the program in "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. 12 weeks of writing exercises. The two main principles are the "artist date" - taking your inner artist out to play for at least two hours a week - and "morning pages". Essentially, you get up in the morning and, before doing anything else, write three pages. Of anything. You just can't do anything else til you write three pages.
I did that this morning, just freewriting, and some interesting stuff came ourt, some fairly deep feelings and frustrations. It'll be interesting to see how this goes.
Anyway! There's that, and there are ten writing exercises on top of that. I thought people might want to play along at home, so to speak. So I'll post one or two of them when I get home tonight so you guys can use them if you'd like. I reccommend doing the morning pages as well.
Thank you, drive through.
