I appear to have become a longitudinal study in how rape is handled in a community that knows both the survivor and the perpetrator. It's easier to share outrage in the immediate aftermath than to make changes a year later - to treat this as an acute issue rather than the advent of a chronic issue, which is what it actually is.

Agreed. After the energy of moral outrage and fear dissipates, its harder to maintain vigilance

More specifically, you are a longitudinal case study in a social group that has taken steps to recognize and address sexual assault. The initial reaction was overall far more outraged and supportive than many survivors see. But useful in noting that initial reactions and long term reactions can differ.

So far we have a very small sample size. I wouldn't generalize to "study" or "community" from this sample size.
