Okay! That's done!

The book was actually pretty good! But the author has an unfortunate comma allergy. Among other things.

Since I have a bit of time before Elayna comes home, Friday memeage:

Wearing: Pinkish/purplish sweater with a ridiculously large cowlneck, jeans, rainbow-striped socks. Another big Little Black Bag necklace.

Reading: Redemption in Indigo by Karen Lord (I know, I'm late) and Knitting from the Center Out by Daniel Yuhas (I will make sense of center cast-ons if it kills me).

Writing: Cicatrix, for my sins.

Knitting: Still Elayna's Still Light Tunic.

Planning: Finally seeing Les Mis tonight, with Elayna, Judah, and thegreenyear! Tomorrow we have a lot to do around the house, but the first priority will be tax returns; we submitted Elayna's FAFSA and PROFILE with our estimated return, but we need to give them our actual numbers ASAP. If we get everything done, we'll reward ourselves with Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Yes, that's a reward.

We have yet to figure out our Sunday plans. I will consult the menfolk tonight.

One of Elayna's trivia questions in school today (they do Trivia Fridays in Humanities) was "What are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp?" We have prepared her well for moments like this.

How's by you?

EDIT: Adding to post instead of spamming with additional posts.

My favorite compliment of the day: "You are intense, know what you want, and use your words like a motherfucking adult." This was regarding why I am reportedly found intimidating. Well! I shan't change. *nod* (Identify yourself if you'd like, hon! I do not wish to assume.)

Happy Friday! :)

Wearing: the low-rise jeans that make my butt look really good, a soft black shirt with a white tiger on it, and a big fluffy sweatshirt.

Reading: I just started Seed to Harvest by Octavia E. Butler. It's a 4-book compilation of her seed series, so this one's gonna take awhile.

Writing: a report for a site in Louisiana, while I listen to the Ting Tings.

Planning: Tonight I'm meeting up with a bunch of friends at Piratz Tavern for dinner and drinks. Tomorrow I'm hanging out with my dear friends nyteulf and A at their place for movies and snuggles.
Sunday is the Superbowl, and my home team is playing! (Go Ravens! :)

miss_lisa_ma and I saw Hansel & Gretel last week and enjoyed it quite a bit; don't go expecting world-class cinema and you'll do just fine. Think Medieval/Steampunk/Fantasy mashup w/plenty of amusing anachronisms, a lot of gore (albeit very cartoonish gore that didn't really bother little squeamish me), nifty sets/costumes/makeup, and good-looking performers in leather (always a plus, methinks), and have fun! (My favorite line is still "Who the fuck is Edward?" :-)

I envy you the company of thegreenyear! I'll try not to have the death flu the next time I come to Boston; perhaps we can all do something fun!

Good job, I just added your books to my Amazon wishlist and am playing with the LBB site.

In return, I can offer that the first book in the WOOL series is currently free on Amazon. Apparently, it is big in the sci-fi world, alas, I just heard of it this evening. So if you've heard of it and read it, then, I gots nuthin.

(though NutThins are amazing and delicious and gluten-free.)

Wearing: MK jeans, which are comfortably loose even fresh from the dryer, army green tank top under a deeeeeeep V neck black short sleeve tee, red Brooks Adrenaline, plain white socks.

Reading: I'm between books in the Sweep series, so I am trying to finish ChiRunning before starting The Four-Hour Chef (which is more about accelerated learning than cooking).

Writing: mostly just ideas, waiting for something to click. Spit up a character, itch out a scene there, eventually there will be a story, right? Right? Hm.

Knitting: the seemingly endless last third of my last baby blanket (barring anymore pregnancy announcements in the family). Lesson learned in this blanket: I hate cables. Hate. Which is why this is taking forever. No wanna.

Planning: tonight was work and much needed time with the fam and my parents' washer/dryer; tomorrow is work and my dear friend's Imbolc ritual, Sunday is work, early dinner with a friend and going with said friend to a local shop's public Imbolc ritual. Yay love and fire and hope all weekend long! :)
