Back on schedule? Maybe? Almost?

Having been off-kilter for a few weeks now, I'm viewing today suspiciously. Judah's showering now and might get out the door roughly on time; Elayna and Adam won't be home til 5. The deadline for Arisia panel signups has passed, so I don't need to be poking at that for another few days. I appear to actually have writing time!

Weird.

So today = working on the story time_shark indirectly dared me to write, working on some essays with an encroaching deadline, and in between, doing laundry and unpacking my sweaters. Also starting my holiday shopping list. Which probably includes knitting a swatch in the yarn I'd like to use for Elayna's Chanukah sweater, because I should order yarn for that verra soon. (It's big and it's sock yarn but it's entirely stockinette stitch and almost entirely in the round. This makes it TV knitting and totally a thing I can accomplish, right? Right?)

Mostly a sedentary day, though; I had a minor outpatient surgical procedure yesterday and shouldn't be too active. This should keep me on track with the writing! :P

How's by you?

cmdr_xander is 15 months old. hammercock is doing "Pirates of Penzance". I'm being a theatre widower, trying to figure out what to do for my favorite holiday (Halloween).

I'm recovering from a self-induced housework-related mild concussion. Oh, yesterday's ER trip was fun. The post-concussion stuff yesterday, not so much. (Separate post on that forthcoming.)

Aii!
16th-Oct-2012 03:40 pm (UTC) - I got married!
It was wonderful, everything went perfectly (as in: I had fun and didn't know/notice/care about stuff that didn't), and I ended the weekend by gifting my wedding gown to the desk clerk at the hotel who was built like me, mentioned she was getting married in may, didn't have a gown, and couldn't afford the fancy ones that walk through her lobby every day. (She looked so stunned and beautiful when she put it on, it was wonderful).

And last night we FINALLY caught up on sleep!

Congratulations, and that was a *really* thoughtful and wonderful gift to the desk clerk!

Thank you! (I was feeling a bit wistful about the gown being gone so soon post-wedding but a friend of mine gave me the perfect analogy "It's kinda like poly: you loved something very much but were willing to give it to someone else." :)

I am in phase 1 of a three phase distance learning Army course.

I must have at least phase two completed and all papers graded by thanksgiving, in order to be qualified for promotion with an educational waiver.

They take approximately two weeks to grade each paper.

I started the course in January, and procrastinated, like I often do.
I turned in my first paper two weeks ago, I got my grade today: 95%

Maybe I can make it for promotion?
I have at least one 25 slide presentation on a regional strategic concept, a history paper, and likely another paper, to write.

Good news: we lucked into a real bed! It just kind of happened to us!
Bad news: now I have to Tetris the apartment so that we can actually get it in here. The whole apartment.

Oh god.

It'll keep my mind off grief, right?

Freaking out because this stupid virus has bollixed my nice time planning for finishing and polishing this novella and getting it in by the 31st. Freaking. Out.

Well, it was a weird day, but I have blue streaks in my hair now, so. . .good?
