Okay, I lied, one more post.

My parents can help us with at least half of the security deposit + first month's rent, but we'll need to fundraise.

I'll definitely be doing a BPAL auction (attention: I have a lot of Storyville and other mega-rares). And I'll have to do a Wind Tunnel Dreams.

What else can I offer? What are you interested in? I'm not doing custom knitting this time because I'm still hung up on not being skilled enough yet to handle the custom knitting from last time, but otherwise I'm open to creative fundraising methods.

Well, you love to cook in large quantities - maybe for local people you could make cookies or dinner for a night (a la Girl Scout Cookies and "Dream Dinners")? I don't know if the cost of materials would offset the donation, unless materials were donated as well. So ummmm....maybe not. I dunno.

But YAY on the possible house!! Good thoughts coming your way.

It's a biiiiiig house, you say? Suitable maybe for house concerts? Book someone who does house concerts. Sell tickets in advance. Half the ticket price goes to you, and half to the performer/cause of their choice.

Hmm. Maybe the logistics would be complicated. But heh, ideas are free. :p

Perhaps this is off-base/out of your scope...but you seem to be a mistress of organization-fu, would you consider putting together some tips for decluttering and organizing office spaces, personal libraries, and home spaces in general as something for fundraising?

I love your fiction, but I think you have a whole lot of non-fiction wisdom to offer as well!

Hm. I'm not sure I could, just because organization is so personal; what works for my space doesn't work for Adam's or Elayna's, for example. Everyone needs to be worked with individually. So I could write a basic guide, but I'm not sure how helpful it would be!

Honestly, for someone like me, just about any kind of suggestions are helpful. I love to BE organized but sometimes find it difficult to get that way. And you'd be surprised by just how innovative an idea can be, when it something someone else has never thought of themselves. :)

But if not that, perhaps suggestions on interior design then? You mentioned something about this in a recent post when you said you were frustrated because you couldn't make some of the changes to your office until you had moved into a new place. Maybe something on that end would be easier to share?

What about letting us crafty types help? I'm sure I have stuff I've made to get rid of that could be sold for you guys, and probably others do as well (and your readership is much larger than mine, so if I donate one auction item it may bring more people to look at the rest of the stuff but that would just be a bonus).
