Here is a post while I wait to close out the first round of auctions.

Is crying at us most pitifully. Pleeeeeeeease release me, she says, let me go....oooooooo.....

She's getting her stitches removed Friday morning, and hopefully we'll get a little more data then about how she's doing. We've raised a little over $1K before the auction money comes in, so future rounds of auctions? Ummyes.

I am
a) not getting any time to myself and very much feeling the lack and
b) not getting any real social interaction and very much feeling the lack.

I'm not sure what to do about this, because whatever I do, I'm not getting half of what I need. Frustrating. At this point I'm just hoping to persevere through the beginning of the school year - at least then I'll have some downtime, and perhaps I can find balance.

Yep, it's gone.

Which is how sindrian and I are deliberately mispronouncing hexipuffs, as in the components of The Quilt. I have discovered that this is what variegated yarns are for. I am inordinately excited about finding a use for certain yarns in my stash.

My mods: Judy's magic cast-on, three-needle bindoff. Yes, the cast-on doesn't leave a ridge and the bindoff does, but I don't care, the puffs are getting joined together anyway, and these are things that make sense to my hands.

Daily Science
Quantum communication could be an option for the absolutely secure transfer of data. The key component in quantum communication over long distances is the special phenomenon called entanglement between two atomic systems. Entanglement between two atomic systems is very fragile and up until now researchers have only been able to maintain the entanglement for a fraction of a second. But in new experiments at the Niels Bohr Institute researchers have succeeded in setting new records and maintaining the entanglement for up to an hour.

I'm planning on making The Beekeeper's Quilt too! Just waiting to have the funds to buy the pattern. I have lots of scrap sock yarn sitting around, and I think it will make a great transit project.

I don't know if this would help with the interaction part, but I've a rather quiet afternoon going on. I know you and phones aren't always BFFs, but if a bit of chat would help, I'm around :-)

... that door alone would be worth it. How cool is that!
