Oh, another big packing question.

Knitting: Morticia
What knitting shall I bring with me? I'm Shadesong on Ravelry, too, if those of you on Ravelry want to look at my queue. I'll be bringing a baby blanket for mindless knitting at readings and in panels, but I want something brain-engaging for the airport/plane. Thinking a shawl or the Villeray scarf, and nothing heavier than fingering-weight, because I need to travel lightly. (Which also means I am not bringing four projects for five days because that is ridiculous I am not doing it *ahem* again.)

I have socks for mindless knitting and a shawl I just started for more brainy knitting.

I'm thinking the Clothilde shawl or the Villeray scarf. You appear to actually have the yarn for those, and they look sufficiently brin engaging to me.

Oh, I have lots of yarn. *laugh* For most anything. I have the yarn for the Shipwreck shawl, and I have talked myself out of that only because I don't have the beads for it.

I'm leaning towards Villeray in Malabrigo Sock in Ochre, for the Blogathon auctions.

Those were the ones you listed with stash! I too have a lot of yarn. Most of it is living in storage, and right now (when allergies aren't kicking my ass) I'm limiting myself to wedding projects. These include socks for mbarr's enormous feet, a shawl for one bridesmaid, a kerchief for another and a cross-stitch atarah for mbarr's tallit.

I'm not ambitious, not at all.....

I had to ask myself the same question. I ended up packing three projects, which is one more than I really think is reasonable for me for this trip... but I just finished a project (yay, I will wear a shawl I made myself!) and I couldn't decide between two of the projects I'd set aside while I was working on that one. I'm bringing "Simple Yet Effective Shawl," which is truly mindless knitting; a partial sock, which I am frogging and putting aside until I'm willing to face it again; and the beginnings of a sock which will hopefully go better than the one I'm frogging. (The sock-to-frog and the sock-to-knit are both sock-weight, but the latter is a different color of yarn that won't remind me of the frustrations I had with the one I'm frogging...)

In your queue, I really like the Dover Castle shawl. (Also a few of the others, but especially that one.)

Me tooooo. Re: shawl. I'm thinking Sundara Sock in dark green for that one.

I did SYES in Noro Kureyon and Noro Silk Garden last year. Quick, easy, pretty. :)

You need to start knitting socks. Those are always my go-to travel knitting. Small, compact, and SO MANY FUN COLORS.

Noooooooooo.....

Yeessss! All those funky colors, AND your toes stay so super warm. AND they're very quick to knit.

If you can knit lace shawls, then socks are cake!

XD You could make me armwarmers! Probably not what you meant though, and I imagine your knitting backlog is like most project areas for you. ^_^

I am trying to learn how to knit. I can crochet a tiny bit. Sort of.

I could! But they would not be done this weekend. But I could by the time you'd need armwarmers again. :)
25th-May-2011 08:35 pm (UTC) - Totally OT...
Would have asked in a message, but apparently it doesn't work?
Was just wondering if you'd mind sharing which med you're on - I'm going through a lot of this atm and am gathering information.
Thanks!

For seizures? Gabitril. Also on Lunesta and Toprol (for my heart issue), and Robaxin (muscle relaxer) as needed.

(I turned off LJ messaging because it was too many inboxes, but you can also always e-mail me at shadesong AT gmail.com!)

Past seizure meds include Lamictal, Keppra, Topamax, Zonegran, Trileptal, and Lyrica.
