Boondock/can't believe
In the continuing adventures of "always read the label" - hey, guys, guess what? Kinnikinnick's Montana's Chocolate Chip Cookies, the best GF chocolate chip cookies I've found?

Recipe change!

Motherfucking soy lecithin!

Guess how I found out!

Yes! My face is tingly and numb and hi, I have a speech to give and so many things today in so many places that I have four maps in my bag.

AUGH.

Damn recipe changes. Damn apparent need to read every package ever, including ones that were previously safe.

I just feel like if a company changes their recipe to include one of the Big Eight Allergens, they should maybe slap a label on the front or something. Gr.

I didn't even know that soy contained gluten. Hope you're feeling better shortly.

'Song is allergic to soy products, too.

(I was confused at first, too, because of the mention of it being GF.)

Oh for fuck's sake. I'm sorry.

They really should be required to have new packaging that says in BIG RED LETTERS "recipe change" for like a year after or something.

Bog standard ginger ale used to be safe. I could drink anything by the big two or three (region dependent) soda manufacturers and be okay, because, the same way so much cream soda bears no cream, most ginger ale had no ginger.

Stupid marketing push towards authenticity. I drink a lot of diet Sierra Mist now.

So, yeah. I get.

This kind of thing is especially frustrating because there's a known link between celiac and soy allergy (mine is not so severe that eating a cookie or two would do damage, but I better not have eaten anything else with soy in it that day).
