Happy birthday to seanhtaylor!

State of the 'Song
Well, I crashed out and slept 10pm-11am Friday/Saturday, then napped extensively, because my brain wasn't getting back in gear. Very clearly I had Had Enough.

My main physical aggravation right now: Jack reacting strongly to our attempts to medicate him and tore a 3/4"-long, 1'4"-wide strip off of my palm, the pad at the base of the thumb. Yes, my dominant hand. I am discovering, as I did vis a vis my wrist when I had tendonitis, how very much of one's everyday activities require use of or pressure on that area.

Have I mentioned that I'm highly allergic to medical adhesive and thus can't use most band-aids?

My Empire for Ashes
Is complete, I hope, and flying off to my editor today. Woo. Want a cookie.

Why I should go to bed immediately upon taking Lunesta
Because apparently I will write rambly posts, pester people on Gchat, eat kettle corn with Sriracha on it, and default to British spelling.

Daily Science
Researchers in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta have made an important discovery that provides a new understanding of how our immune system "learns" not to attack our own body, and this could affect the way doctors treat patients with autoimmune diseases and cancer.

Plans
As 'splained late last night, apparently: work, speech, lunch, lecture, volunteer dinner, home, sleep. If I have time between lunch and lecture, which I might, maybe I can swing by the yarn store.

Congratulations on finishing the ... book? long story? not sure what you're calling it now. In any event, I'm looking forward to seeing it in print and reading it.

(does your daily countdown clock count the number of days until publication, or something else?)

Book-related ideas:

kylecassidy to do your author pictures. He rocks, and is frequently in Boston for other shoots, which would mitigate your expenses.

If you don't have one already, an accountant that specializes in authors. There's lots of stuff that can be tax deductible (like some of your con expenses and said photo shoot with kylecassidy) now that you are going to be a (paid) Published Author.

Oh, I've been claiming cons since my first publication, in 2008. :)

I've only met Kyle once; asking might be weird! But I have professional-photographer friends.

Ask everywhere for Kerlix pads and Kerlix wrap. It is soft, and wonderful for hand wounds - you also can tear it against itself and *tie* the dressing shut. I love it.

For the rest, bugger.

I had never heard of Sriracha sauce before this. Sounds good, though.

I don't see the problem.
