Still feeling like death warmed over. Trying to focus on positives.

I love that my daughter is loving her geekiest Chanukah yet, which has included a squishy Adipose, plush Companion Cube, a Totoro hat, and Pictorial Webster's: A Visual Dictionary of Curiosities. And there is more to come. Oh yes. She also got a shawl, which is not as geeky, but it really turned out beautifully. Must photograph it on her.

I love that sindrian is making us chicken soup from scratch. There is a whole chicken in the stockpot, with veggies and thyme and bay and nom.

I love that feste_sylvain is so good about checking up on me, including asking questions I might not have thought to ask myself.

I love that Adam and I can be silent together. That is a special thing, that comfort in silence. Granted, right now I'm appreciating it because I can't speak without coughing jags! But there is a goodness in just being together.

What is it about Moms and coughs right now? I have been fighting some serious coughing over the past couple of days that have just rattled my brain. I wonder if you can give yourself a concussion by coughing?

Feel better soon.

I gave myself a maybemigraine - felt like one, complete with severe nausea and AAAHGODVERTIGOHORK when I moved my head. Yesterday.

I'm glad that you're being so well taken care of.

And I thought of you when I was in the grocery store today -- the new Stop&Shop that opened up just down the road has a HUGE gluten-free section! All kinds of things! It's pretty nifty.

Tonight's dinner will, in fact, be gluten-free, because tonight I am making latkes, and my family is very proud of having a recipe that doesn't call for added flour or matzo meal -- we feel it makes them too heavy, and prefer to wring out the grated potatoes thoroughly instead.

Yeah. That's a great feeling, isn't it? That two people dnn't feel like they have to prattle about nonsense just to fill an empty space. For me that's a big part of feeling comfortable with someone. (Which is odd, because Dognose I'm someone who loves to blab.)

I hope you are no longer suffering coughing fits soon.

This post makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Except for the part about coughing. But the rest! Yay geeky gifts, and comfortable silence, and love!
6th-Dec-2010 03:36 pm (UTC) - Oh goodness
I didn't realize things were this bad when I saw sindrian this weekend. He mentioned you were both under the weather but not how badly.

Feel better soon.

Bronchitis and pneumonia are eyeing me out of the corner of my eye, playing rock paper scissors to determine which one gets me this time. Ugh.

Thanks.

If your household is interested, the new Medford Ocean State Job Lot has a sizable amount of gluten-free mixes.
