On dating a writer. Yep, it's all true.

Daily Science
Water is critical to human life, but also plays an important role in the life of stars and their planetary systems. As a gas, water helps to cool collapsing clouds of interstellar material so that they can form new stars.

Friday Memeage!
Wearing: Jeans and a 3/4 purple shirt with interesting beaded neckline. Earrings by sihaya09, necklace by kythryne.
Reading: Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor.
Writing: I'm in the planning stages of two short stories; I'll have time to work on them next week.
Knitting: I need to bust out the last four rows on that baby blanket and the last 1.6 of the other baby blanket, but I have started another Arabella shawl in deep blue/purple Malabrigo Sock. I know, I want autumn colors, but that one was clamoring to be done first.
Planning: Oh here we go.
Today: Crazy workday, probably nap. Great Big Sea concert with Adam tonight, potentially preceded by dinner with Jake.
Saturday: Baking Crack Pie and Schadenfreude Pie for Mark's birthday. Strange Horizons reading at Pandemonium at 2 (which I'll post more about later). Mark's birthday party.
Sunday: Back-to-school shopping with Elayna. Charity knitting birthday party for Pilar. Potentially helping hammercock and trowa_barton with the move after that, as I'll already be in Davis Square. Potentially going to RiverSing if I am not near collapse.

HI.

You?

Wearing: House frump clothes
Reading: Would Be Witch, Kimberly Frost
Crafting: Sweater Hat and Mittens
Planning: Going to search for sweaters to recycle for Kaleidoscope coats. Just started selling them!
17th-Sep-2010 01:07 pm (UTC)
Wearing: Nothing right now. When I get dressed to head out into the world, probably jeans and my "I want my own theme music" t-shirt. And a sweater and a scarf because it's fall, glorious fall.

Reading: Unweaving the Rainbow by Richard Dawkins, which is a gorgeous walk through various ways in which science is inspiring and beautiful.

Writing: My free-writes yesterday actually started giving me experiment ideas, which is awesome. I need to finish rewriting my teaching statement, make a new pass through my research statement, and sit down and start getting seriously into a manuscript.

Knitting: God I hope so. I want to finish one of the three projects I've got on the needles so I can justify starting my mom's Christmas present.

Planning:
It's long and I won't clutter it up here :)

Water is critical to human life, essential to the formation of stars, planets and all that stuff, and it doesn't behave the way chemistry and physics says it should. It's exceptional in several ways, and if it wasn't, we wouldn't be here. It's one of those elegant bits of science that points to the divine, in my opinion.

Oh, and if we are reporting on what we are wearing, brown levis cargo pants, my mindspring t-shirt, celtic knotwork belt, silver rope wedding necklace, and my white gold wedding ring. Socks and combat boots when I leave the house in an hour.

I plan on being in Boston by six, at the latest.

I'll keep in touch.
17th-Sep-2010 04:17 pm (UTC) - This might be exhaustion.
Wearing: cobalt blue crinkle skirt, white v-neck short sleeved shirt, silver heart earrings, silver heart w/gems necklace, 2 beacelets, 1 ring.
Reading: Variable Star by Robert Heinlein and Spider Robinson! It's weird: this part is just like SR, that part is clearly from RAH's outline/description, mix and mix but little things come out. It's good so far.
Planning: Tonight is Yom Kippur. My place is full of boxes. I know what I'm wearing tomorrow, so I'm a little torn about unpacking any boxes this evening or tomorrow. Sunday: sleeping in, lunch with Greegan's parents, more unpacking.
