The world is the ocean and the ocean is the world and you are safe.
You are safe, you are warm, you are bluegreenviolet in the light that makes it down here. You are suffused. You are cradled, you are gently rocked. You are down far enough that you feel a comforting pressure; you are being held by this world, firm and constant.
You turn, you drift, you stretch, and there is nothing that is required of you, there is nothing that you must do, there is no quest and no dragon; there are not even any perilous-looking fish. There is seaweed, there are flickers of light in the distance, there is a faint background pulse and hum, but that is all.
You have been so tired for so long. You did not know how very tired you were until you arrived here, until you could stop push push pushing, until there was no need to fight. This is a respite like you've never had. You have never let yourself just stop like this. It takes hours just to realize that there was no danger here, to let yourself go, to release your tension, your thoughts, your fear.
You envy the person whose haven this was. They must have been so serene, even when the bad things are happening, to have this place to go to.
You drift, you twist lazily, you sing to yourself, and you drift down, down down where no light goes; you find the bottom and recoil from its sharpness, come back to yourself, pull a bit loose half-accidentally and kick back up to the light.
When you see the bones in your hand, you release them and they tumble so so slowly down, back where they can stay unseen."Tidal"
