Blogathon! Auction! Items!
19th-Jul-2010 09:55 am
Hearth
The Blogathon auction starts a week from today! *throws confetti* 40+ awesome items, all to benefit BARCC!

If you are making or sending me stuff for Blogathon:

* If I do not yet have your item in-hand, please touch base with me and let me know how it's going just so I know I'm still on your radar. "Running late" is okay. "Can't get to it" is okay. It's lack of info that makes a twitchy 'song.

* If you're local, I am officially home to visitors tonight and can take delivery of your auction items! If you're on my makers-of-stuff list, you have my address in your e-mail. If you've just realized you have something you'd like to donate, e-mail me at shadesong AT gmail.com and I will happily give you my address.

* Yes, I am still accepting donations! We don't yet have enough to fill out the whole 49 posts. So if you've been thinking about it, now is the time to act!

Items currently in-hand and awesome:
Shawl, wristwarmers, and scarf by me.
Necklace and pin by Anita Allen.
Necklace by upstart_crow.
Clay yoni vessels by crowgirl13.
Scarf by freyapax.
Earrings by rivenwanderer.
Shawl by sairaali.
Recycled leather flogger by shadowedge613.
Key pendant by arianhwyvar.
Pendant by kythryne
Treasure chest tin by mizarchivist

Items that will be custom-made:
Swarovski crystal bracelet by solcita
Critique by cucumberseed
Art by ultra_lilac

* I'll be putting the finishing touches on the auction site this Sunday to start the auction a week from today, so, as they say, the time to hesitate is through!

Thanks! :)

I am so scattered on this this year. **sags gently**

I'll try to get you my blurb and a pic to go with it tomorrow.

19th-Jul-2010 03:43 pm (UTC) - Serious question about Blogathon in general
Is there something written in stone that states that content must be original and written at that moment, 49 times over 24 hours, or can one just stay up through the 24 hours and post 49 previously written pieces once every half hour over the 24 hours?

The reason I ask is not for this year... far too late, and my life is far too complicated right now for that... but for future years, I am wondering if The Blog Stoker's DRACULA Project or The Blog FRANKENSTEIN Project could be adapted for Blogathon.

I'm sorry if this seems a stupid question and if there's been something posted previously and prominently about original content that I have missed in the midst of brainfog.

Original content posted then and there is one of the rules.

That said, if they keep calling off Blogathon at the last minute, you could just do that on an unofficial-Blogathon year.

Thank you! I figured it had to be posted somewhere, and that I had just missed it.

Yeah, it's usually on Blogathon.org's FAQ, but with their site down...

And I still plan to donate $$$ directly to BARCC for you.

If you still need stuff as for right now, I can throw a necklace your way from my I-stopped-vending-and-can't-possibly-wear-all-of-this stash.

Alternatively (or if you need additional items) I could toss in a custom flogger. I'll be happy to do a blurb for this if you decide to go with it.

Lemme know.

That would be great, either one - thank you!

Custom made floral barrette from me if you think anyone would be interested.

Would you like me to send you the painting I did to your story? I can forward the scan to you again, if you don't still have it.

I need to send you your bpal anyway, so when I ship that (tomorrow - sorry, I forgot all about it; stupid broken memory) I'll include a beaded hair wrap for you to auction. Along the lines of http://www.earcurls.com/pages/wraps.html except that the ones I make use elastic cording, more beads and larger beads which gives a much more stable finished style.

Both men and women wore them in Renaissance and earlier time periods; they're great for styles that are long enough to meet at the center line of your head but not to pull back into a pony tail. If they're put in tightly they'll withstand a day of heavy physical labor, a night of dancing, or an SCA battle without leaving your hair in your face/eyes.

I currently have an empty etsy shop, but there will be more of these put up online soon, so a plug in the auction would be awesome - my shop is http://savagegodsdesigns.etsy.com. I'll also put up a picture tutorial of the way that we wear them.
