Everyone here is a crazy person.
Okay. I know that this is the knitting equivalent of walking into a bookstore and saying "I'm looking for a book? It has a blue cover? Or maybe green?" But I have been searching Ravelry and am at wit's end.

So at some point I saw a pattern for armwarmers. I did not save it, because they were long and I was like pfft, I am not going to want to knit a gazillion stitches. Which was not smart of me, because now I have a project it'd be perfect for, and I cannot find it.

So: Armwarmers/fingerless mitts/sleeves. Opera-glove length. I think in the picture they were black. And they had a sinuous lace pattern of yarnovers all the way down, looking all manner of serpentine.

Anyone?

WHY DO I NOT HAVE A KNITTING ICON I don't know.

Edit: Definitely knitting, not crochet. And lace pattern with yarnovers. If there are no yarnovers in the pattern, it is definitely not that pattern.

Nope, it was definitely lace/yarnovers, not ribbing...

I was going to suggest those :)

If it's not them, might be Cloverleaf Lace Mitts or Picot & Lace Armwarmers.

Or maybe St Alamea? These are going in my queue -- so lovely!

Some lace patterns will serpentine on their own, so you may have seen a picture where someone hadn't straightened out the twist before taking the picture.

Have you tried searching for gauntlets?

Good luck.

Lion Brand has a pattern with plenty of yarnovers, but it's not serpentine or sinuous: http://www.lionbrand.com/origpics/90590ada.jpg

do you remember what color the gloves were?

you answered that... hmmm.

In case you cannot find the original pattern you're seeking: this shrug pattern has a nice, easy, sinuous lace pattern. It'd be reasonably simple to convert it to a pair of long lacy arm warmers...
