Still tired; yesterday's nap was light and fitful, and it was hard to drag myself out of bed this morning.

Headphones
My earbuds are busted again. They only last about a month. Anyone got any recommendations for earbuds with staying power? I miss the music on my morning walk!

Daily Science
Tiny variations in the isotopic composition of silver in meteorites and Earth rocks are helping scientists put together a timetable of how our planet was assembled beginning 4.568 billion years ago. The new study, published in the journal Science, indicates that water and other key volatiles may have been present in at least some of Earth's original building blocks, rather than acquired later from comets, as some scientists have suggested.

Friday Memeage!
Wearing: Plain green long-sleeved shirt and jeans.
Reading: The Cardboard Universe: A Guide to the World of Phoebus K. Dank, by Christopher Miller.
Writing: My goal next week is to actually have something in this spot. I started the third nightside-of-Vegas story, but I'm uncertain of it thus far.
Knitting: I finished my co-worker's baby blanket and fortunavirilis's wrap this week; I've started on saraphina_marie's blanket, and I'm doing a quick stashbuster scarf with a leftover ball of superchunky yarn.
Planning: Tonight's a home night. This weekend is a full weekend with swashbucklr, who has Sekrit Plans; the nonSekrit Plans include dancing at Heroes Saturday and a renfaire on Sunday.

I've had a pair of Radius Atomic Bass earbuds for a couple years now, and I'm very happy with them. Excellent sound quality, and you can get them for around $30. The only issue I've had with them is that the rubber ear caps tend to come off easily, so they really need their own little bag.

Sony sport! They're like $50 which lead to some hemming and hawing on my part about buying them but they are the first earbuds I didn't run through in a few weeks, and I've had them for more than a year now! Also, super comfy.

Signal boosted on your Mick Foley entry at BARCC. I've known Foley was one of the good guys since the late 90s, even before I saw Beyond the Mat or read some of his books. I'd want to thank him for his work. And I thank you for yours.

We can be better. It's a simple mantra.

Roger Ebert can bite me in glorious, panoramic 3-D.
I love 3-D movies SO MUCH.
It's a ViewMaster nerd's dream come true.
Someone needs to invent patches to stick on glasses though.

Seeing if I can sell the old truck and still have $100 left over after bills so I can drive to Vermont next weekend.

Miss Piggy doing Peaches and Sesame Street via Marty Scorcese KILLED me! (I know an actor who got a small role in The Departed by improving something truly disgusting in front of Scorcese at his final audition--I'm SO sending that to him!)

Right now at this very moment John Manning is performing a faculty recital that includes my tuba piece, Dans Profundo. I'm hoping for a souvenir program and a recording, and more sure about the program than the recording. But still, out-of-state premiere!!
