Crashed hard yesterday straight from work, and really did not stop being un-tired. (On the bright side, I didn't require a nap Monday.)

New Community!
I have not had the time to populate it or even write up a description for the profile. But.

how_to_help - a central LJ clearinghouse for info on how to help people in need. For links to charity auctions, families who need to replace stuff lost in fires and floods, fund drives. Feel free to use it!

General Updatery
BPAL box is sold, packed, and I just need packing tape. Also need to pack and mail a few other things. AC unit is in the window, yay. Kitchen table is as clean as it gets; I need to devote some time and energy to my office, and also to my bedroom when it's cool enough.

Things fall off the to-do list and things jump on.

Still cringe-y at the prospect of socialization. Still have some that I can't avoid or reschedule. Ugh. As soon as I can, I need to reserve a week of no socializing.

Physicists set guidelines for qubit candidates.

Work. Mother's Day/birthday gift purchase for birthmom; Mother's Day card purchases for both moms. Haircut, mailing Mother's Day gifts and last Explo paperwork (sadly not BPAL box, as that would necessitate carrying it to work), library to fix problem with my card. Home around... 3? Writing statements for me + Elayna and me + co-blogger Dave for the BARCC photo project so I can stop getting pinged multiple times a day by the photographer, who has no understanding that she is not my #1 priority and is deeply cranky about it. At this point I'm sorry I even posed, this not being worth the hassle, but hey. Home stuff; probably not writing or editing, because Elayna will be home. Posting the new "Ixi's Gambit". Getting caught up on more recent e-mail to-dos. Dinner with D., which I'm going to try to shift from Harvard Square to Watertown for my convenience. Watching Glee with the family, then Lost with just Adam, knitting on the baby blanket all the while.

The what the fuck should I make for dinner site has me crying laughing here. Possibly because that exact phrase leaves my mouth on a daily basis.

Did you raise all the money you needed for Explo? You mentioned the paperwork, so I assume so, but you hadn't mentioned specifically.

We raised enough!

Bookmarking * What the fuck should I eat for dinner?*
No matter what we buy at the beginning of the week for dinner, by the time 6pm rolls around, I'm not in the mood for it and debate for at least half an hour before prepping the kitchen. And the cantankerous feminist in me rebels at having a husband come home asking where his dinner is, which delays matters further. I'm still getting used to having him home for dinner in the first place, which means cooking something that everyone can have. And some days, all four of us want to eat different things or at different times.

Hence, the invention of the crockpot: stick in and leave it until people get hungry.
