Dad update

He's home... sabotaged his impending gall-bladder ultrasound by eating a doughnut. Oh, Dad. *wry smile* So he's going for the ultrasound tomorrow, at a hospital he trusts more.

The CT ruled out aneurysm, so no exploding aorta, thank goodness. They're looking primarily at gall bladder and blocked arteries.

If it turns out to be his gall bladder, I have even more reason to sympathize. It looks like mine's coming out in the very near future!

At any rate, all best wishes for a speedy recovery for your Dad. :)

Wow. I'm glad it's not an aneurysm...here's to hoping that it's something that's a quick and easy fix!

Did they rule out blood pressure issues? I've heard of people passing out and having fluttery sensations in the chest due to low blood pressure...

Two coworkers of mine have had their gallbladders removed. One had hers removed unnecessarily, due to un-diagnosed IBS. The other really DID have a diseased gallbladder, and she described the pain as un-medicate-able. Like having a spear driven through you, just because you ate something with fat in it. Pain like you wanted to die. Pain to throw up to. Pain that she said was worse than giving birth, because you believe you are going to die and you're really really looking forward to it.

She lived with that for about a year. (Complicated situation - she needed to work 100 days before she qualified for the time off required to have the surgery, so being a trooper, she worked the 100 days.)

Anyway, best of luck to your father and may his gallbladder be removed with ease! Lemme tell yah, you don't need it if it's going to spasm.
